The Severance JV wrestlers showed up and showed out at the Heritage Freshman/Sophomore Invitational, delivering impressive performances and earning valuable experience. With several wrestlers making podium appearances and others battling through tough brackets, the Silver Knights once again demonstrated their depth and determination.


Top Placers: Leading the Way

Ben Loecke (98 lbs): A Perfect Run to First Place

Ben Loecke dominated his weight class with a combination of technical mastery and explosive power.

  • Quarterfinal: Received a bye.

  • Semifinal: Secured a tech fall victory, 17-0, over Bohdy Russ (Erie).

  • 1st Place Match: Ended his day with a first-period fall over Owen Enright (Silver Creek) in 1:44 to claim the gold.

Jett Harris (126B lbs): A Pinning Specialist

Jett Harris had an incredible tournament, racking up two pins and a dominant tech fall to secure first place.

  • Quarterfinal: Pinned Kenyon Herrera (Legend) in 2:26.

  • Semifinal: Followed with another pin in 1:38 over Shayan Kian (Denver South).

  • 1st Place Match: Topped off his stellar performance with a 17-1 tech fall over Leo Wallace (Denver North).


Noah Abram (126 lbs): A Gold Medal Run

Noah Abram dominated the 126 lbs bracket with three decisive victories.

  • Championship Round 1: Received a bye.

  • Quarterfinal: Pinned Alejandro Sunun (Regis Jesuit) in 42 seconds.

  • Semifinal: Earned another fall in 3:16 over Taylor Green (Broomfield).

  • 1st Place Match: Secured a commanding 20-5 tech fall over Rylan Engelbert (Heritage).


William Barrentine (138 lbs): Third Place Finish

William showcased his technical skills and resilience throughout the tournament.

  • Championship Round 1: Dominated Braden Watson (Lakewood) with a 17-1 tech fall.

  • Quarterfinal: Pinned Chase Jarnagin (Mountain Vista) in 5:09.

  • Semifinal: Fell to Blake Simpson (Eaglecrest) by fall in 3:03.

  • 3rd Place Match: Bounced back with a 10-3 decision over Vlad Rudachenko (ThunderRidge).


Corben Isaacs (138 lbs): Fifth Place with Big Wins

Corben Isaacs displayed perseverance and finishing power with three pins on the day.

  • Round 1: Pinned Nick Ugarte (Arapahoe) in 1:27.

  • Consolation Rounds: Secured pins over Noe Rubio-Montoya (Heritage) and Nolan Lawson (Broomfield).

  • 5th Place Match: Ended his day with a fall in 3:34 over Chase Jarnagin (Mountain Vista).


Oliver Wakkinen (144 lbs): Third Place with Dominance

Oliver delivered a powerful performance, earning two falls and a tech fall.

  • Round 1: Pinned Connor McDougall (Broomfield) in 56 seconds.

  • Quarterfinal: Pinned Jack Alexander (Arapahoe) in 1:46.

  • Semifinal: Fell to Mason Bahr (Erie) by fall in 2:52.

  • 3rd Place Match: Ended strong with a 17-0 tech fall over Dean Pemberton (Legend).


Brayden Quinlan (157 lbs): Fourth Place

Brayden delivered two stellar tech fall victories before falling short in the later rounds.

  • Round 1 & Quarterfinal: Recorded back-to-back 17-2 tech falls over Kaden Lowery (Legend) and Trystan Blake (Eaglecrest).

  • Semifinal: Fell to Marcos Villegas (Rocky Ford) via 18-2 tech fall.

  • 3rd Place Match: Lost another tough match, 19-3, to Dominic Scocchera (Eaglecrest).


How the Rest of the Team Fared

  • Hayden Trevithick (132B lbs): Secured 6th place with two pins, including a fall in 2:17 over Boden Piatanida (Cherry Creek).

  • David Gordon (150 lbs): Earned a strong decision win (12-5) in the consolation bracket and a first-round pin in 3:43.

  • Mack Swift (150 lbs): Picked up an impressive 44-second pin in the prelim round.

  • Xander Spickenreuther (190 lbs): Won a 16-0 tech fall and advanced with a forfeit win before a tough loss in the cons. semis.


Takeaways from the Tournament
