Tournament of Knights: Severance Girls Wrestling Shines at Home

This past weekend, Severance High School hosted the Tournament of Knights, bringing 19 teams together for an electrifying day of high-stakes competition. The Lady Silver Knights battled hard, taking fifth in the team race while showcasing individual brilliance across the board. Here’s the breakdown of an unforgettable home tournament:



The Podium Finishers: Leading the Way

Eila Schultz (130 lbs): Champion

Eila Schultz was absolutely dominant, claiming the top spot in her bracket with two emphatic wins.

  • Quarterfinal: Advanced via forfeit.

  • Semifinal: Took control early and pinned Savannah Spadi (Standley Lake) in just 1:50, setting the tone for the finals.

  • 1st Place Match: Faced Zuri Saunders (Cheyenne Central) and delivered another commanding performance, securing a fall in 2:42 to earn gold.

Eila’s technique and aggression were on full display, making her the standout of the tournament.



Alisa Gonzales (170 lbs): Runner-Up

Alisa Gonzales powered her way to the finals with a mix of strength and skill, ultimately finishing second in a stacked bracket.

  • Quarterfinal: Outlasted Carly Larsen (Strasburg) in a high-scoring battle, winning 15-11 by decision.

  • Semifinal: Wasted no time against Addyson Wolver (Mead), pinning her in just 1:46 to advance to the finals.

  • 1st Place Match: Fell to Anabelle Gerrard (Loveland), who remains undefeated on the season, by fall in 1:30.

Alisa’s grit and determination made her a fan favorite throughout the tournament.



Nevaeh Odegaard (125 lbs): Fourth Place

Nevaeh Odegaard fought through a tough bracket to earn fourth, picking up two impressive wins along the way.

  • Quarterfinal: Pinned Ashlyn Corley (Standley Lake) in 2:42, showing her knack for big moments.

  • Semifinal: Fell to Grace Sierra (Mead) by fall in 1:37.

  • Consolation Semi: Rebounded with a quick 1:38 pin over Kaycee Vaad (Poudre).

  • 3rd Place Match: Faced Ashlyn Corley again but fell short, losing by fall in 2:26.



Allison Wilson (235 lbs): Fourth Place

Allison Wilson showed resilience in a competitive field, fighting her way to fourth place.

  • Quarterfinal: Received a bye.

  • Semifinal: Fell to Soledad Luchman (Standley Lake) by fall in 30 seconds.

  • Consolation Semi: Bounced back with a pin in 2:22 over teammate Reese Rose.

  • 3rd Place Match: Fell to Abby Lapp (Arapahoe) by fall in 1:24.



Other Performances: Battling for Every Point

  • Addyson Duran (120 lbs): Picked up an 11-2 major decision in the consolations over Linda Rodriguez (Poudre) before falling to Autumn Kulpa (Strasburg).

  • Alivia Gonzales (145 lbs): Placed fifth with a medical forfeit win after tough matches against Frances Bralish (Holy Family) and Alyee Johnson (Florence).

  • Austyn Mitchell (155 lbs): Took sixth with three pins, including a quick 25-second fall in her opening match against Camya Speer Schneider (Poudre).

  • Reese Rose (235 lbs): Finished sixth, showing grit throughout her matches, including a 3:21 battle against Maya Guzman (Standley Lake).
